Hoshiarpur:- Sardar Jang Bahadur Singh Parmar, who was engaged in the service of the 108 saints of the service, the lover of Gurmat, Baba Hari Singh Naiki Wale, who had completed his life's journey in New Jersey (USA) last year and had gone to the feet of the Guru, was held at Gurdwara Harisar Sahib Mannahana under the supervision of Sant Baba Amrik Singh, the chief Servant of Gurdwara Sahib.
During the ceremony, family members and relatives of the late JB Singh Parmar living in the country and abroad, as well as prominent personalities from the sports, social and religious fields, arrived and paid him warm tribute. Before this, the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib was offered. After this, the Bairagamai Kirtan was sung by the Raagi Jathas.
While paying tribute to late JB Singh Parmar, his son Yograj Singh USA, former international wrestling coach PR Saundhi, Principal Balbir Singh Gill, retired bank manager BS Bagla and other dignitaries said that Sardar Jang Bahadur Singh Parmar was a unique personality. He was born on 18 March 1942 in the house of father Sardar Hazara Singh Ji and mother Vidya Parmar Ji in village Panjoor.
He received his primary education from Government School Nadal. Later, he studied engineering from Hoshiarpur College and obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from Delhi. Jang Bahadur Singh Ji had great faith in the great men of virtue, Dhan-Dhan 108 Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji from a young age. He devoted his entire life in the service of Hari Baba Ji.
With the blessings of Sant Hari Singh Ji, he became a successful businessman and dedicated his entire life to Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji and Sikhism. In the year 1970, he went to America and then to Kuwait. After going there, he started building construction work and gave employment to hundreds of people. First, he got Asia's largest Gurdwara Harisar Sahib building constructed in Manahana village. In the memory of Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji, he got a 210 feet high tower, a 185 feet high Gurdwara Sahib, and an 8-sided tank constructed.
From the year 1983, he started Bharat Kesari wrestling competitions on 11,12,13 March. He started Sant Samagam in the memory of Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji in Punjab. He also got a college and school for girls built in the memory of the saints in village Chela-Makhsoospur. He got a hospital built for health facilities and a Gurdwara Sahib for the Panth Premi Sangat in village Panjora.
Along with this, in the year 2001, the entire building of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib Ji in Pakistan was renovated and other construction was also done by Sardar Jang Bahadur Singh Parmar. Not only this, but he purchased 47 acres of land adjacent to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib and named it after Gurdwara Sahib and inaugurated Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and started the first Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji on 9 September 2001.
He said that with the demise of Sardar Parmar, not only the family but also the society and the Sikh Panth have suffered an irreparable loss. Sant Baba Amrik Singh, Chief Sewadar Gurdwara Sahib, said that the picture and biography of late Jang Bahadur Singh Parmar have been adorned in the museum of Manhana Gurdwara Sahib.
On this occasion, JB Singh Parmar's wife Harsharan Kaur, brother Gurmail Singh USA, Bibi Varinder Parmar, Rajpal Parmar and close friend Bhupinder Singh Sian from Ludhiana were present, besides Gurdwara Sahib's Sewadar Sandeep Singh Sandy, former international coach Ravinder Nath, Amrik Singh Mehli wrestler and Reet Preet Pal Singh General Secretary Wrestling Association Kapurthala District etc.
