Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 15, 2026:- Acting on the directions of Varun Sharma, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar, Mohali Police achieved a major success during its campaign against anti-social elements by arresting three accused and recovering 10 modern pistols along with 20 live cartridges. The operation was carried out by a team led by Inspector Pardeep Singh Bajwa, In-charge of CIA Staff, Kharar, under the supervision of Saurav Jindal, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), and Akashdeep Singh, Superintendent of Police (Operations).

Giving information to the press today, Varun Sharma said that the CIA Staff Mohali team had earlier arrested two armed accused. Following up on that case, Mohali Police discreetly began collecting intelligence about suspicious persons living in Kharar and surrounding areas. During the investigation, the name of Sachin alias Bachhi, son of Ugrasen, a resident of Mangali village in Hisar district, Haryana, and currently residing at Flat No. AA6, Casa Homes, Sante Majra, Kharar, came to light. He was allegedly bringing modern and advanced illegal weapons at low prices from Indore in Madhya Pradesh and areas of Uttar Pradesh and supplying them at higher prices in Kharar, Mohali and nearby areas.

Further inquiries revealed that cases related to arms smuggling and fighting had previously been registered against Sachin alias Bachhi. He had reportedly been living in the Mohali-Kharar area for a long time without any apparent necessary work, and his activities were being monitored. Sachin alias Bachhi is a distant relative of a criminal named Kirti Mann, who was associated with a module of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Kirti Mann was shot dead in August 2026 at a court in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, allegedly by members of gangster Rohit Godara’s gang.

The CIA Staff team kept Sachin alias Bachhi under continuous surveillance. After obtaining reliable information, he was arrested on October 13, 2026, in connection with FIR No. 468 dated October 13, 2026, under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act at Sadar Kharar Police Station. Two pistols and two live cartridges were recovered from him.

During Sachin alias Bachhi’s interrogation, his associates Mahikdeep Singh alias Mahik and Harmanpreet Singh alias Honey were named as accused in the same case and subsequently arrested in accordance with the law. Two illegal pistols were also recovered from the Scorpio vehicle used by them. It is noteworthy that Mahikdeep Singh alias Mahik, a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib district, is a proclaimed offender in an attempt-to-murder case registered at Fatehgarh Sahib Police Station.

A total of 10 pistols have so far been recovered from the three accused in FIR No. 468/2026. Police remand has been obtained for the accused, and further action is underway.
