Nawanshahr, October 26 – Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society Nawanshahr organized a three-day district-level Mahan Gurmat Samagam at the grounds of JSFH Khalsa Senior Secondary School Nawanshahr in connection with the 556th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Saka-e-Chandni Chowk) under the auspices of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The sacred form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was brought to the pandal in the form of a Nagar Kirtan from Gurdwara Guru Angad Nagar in a decorated palanquin.
Guru Kiyan Ladliy Fooj, Gatka parties, Kirtan Jathas and a large number of devotees participated in this Nagar Kirtan. The event was inaugurated by Bhai Jaspal Singh with the recitation of Rehras Sahib Ji. After this, Bhai Sukhvir Singh Hazuri Raagi of Gurdwara Singh Sabha Nawan Shehar Wale started the Kirtan. After that, Bhai Simarpreet Singh Hazuri Raagi of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar delighted the congregation by reciting a variety of Amritmai Bani.
Renowned Panth narrator and chief patron of Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society Giani Sarabjit Singh of Ludhiana Wale welcomed the renowned Panth personalities including Giani Sahib Singh, Kirtaniya Jathas and thousands of Sangats who had come from all over the district. During the event, the women of Miri Piri International Jatha Jagadhari performed Gurbani Kirtan in their own unique style, connecting the congregation with the Guru's feet and creating an atmosphere of spirituality.
On this occasion, the famous storyteller and scholar of the Panth, Giani Sahib Singh Ji from Canada, while giving evidence from the life history and Gurbani of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, mentioned the evils that had divided the society on the basis of caste, high and low, superstition, rituals and discrimination. Guru Nanak Sahib taught the entire people to do true and pure work, chant the name and share the food, as well as mutual love and universal solidarity.
He appealed to the congregation that during the Amrit Sanchar to be held on October 27, as many people as possible should become the Guru of Amrit Chak. He highly appreciated the religious and social work being done by the Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society such as organizing Gurmat Samagams, free dispensaries for the needy, laboratories, free eye operation camps, coaching centers, facility centers and planting mini forests for the prosperity of the environment and building Guru Nanak etc.
He said that by providing school fees to needy children and sewing missions to women, great work is being done for the sake of Gurmat and social service. The chief servant of the society, Surjit Singh, while thanking the prominent personalities, appealed to the entire Sangat to attend these events in large numbers in the coming two days.
On this occasion, he said that during these events, Amrit Sanchar will be conducted at Gurdwara Guru Angad Nagar on Monday, October 27 and a free eye check-up and operation camp will be organized at Guru Nanak Mission Charitable Dispensary on Thursday, October 30. The stage secretary service during the event was performed by S. Tarlochan Singh Khatkar Kalan.
