Una: Prioritizing road safety, the Una District Administration has set a maximum speed limit for all categories of vehicles within the Una Municipal Corporation area. District Magistrate Jatin Lal issued the order in this regard, exercising his powers under Section 112 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. This arrangement is in line with the speed limits previously notified by the Transport Department for municipal areas.
According to the order, a maximum speed limit of 30 km/h has been set for passenger vehicles with up to eight seats and a maximum of 40 km/h for passenger vehicles with nine or more seats within the Una Municipal Corporation limits.
The maximum speed limit for freight vehicles has been set at 25 km/h. The maximum speed limit for motorcycles will be 30 km/h, while the maximum speed limit for quadricycles and three-wheelers will be 20 km/h.
The order states that all drivers within the Una Municipal Corporation area must comply with these speed limits. Violations will result in punitive action under the Motor Vehicles Act and relevant rules.
