Karnal, November 22: The Nagar Kirtan Yatra, being organized to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, began today from Gurdwara Rodi Sahib Nising and passed through Gurdwara Sangatpura Baba Babu Singh Ji, Gurdwara Nanak Sir Singhada, Kuchpura Budhanpur, Balu, and Bahalolpur, and then reached Kachhwa Bada Gurdwara.
After the afternoon langar, the Yatra proceeded from Dabri, Saidpura Palnagar, to Karnal city via Ram Nagar, Prem Nagar, Hansi Chowk, Khanda Chowk, Rest House, Ambedkar Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Kalpana Chawla College, Civil Hospital Chowk, Kunjpura Road, Nehru Palace, and Old Sabzi Mandi Road, before halting for the night at Dera Kar Seva Karnal.
During the Yatra, the Nagar Kirtan Yatra was graciously welcomed at every location by various social and religious organizations. During this, citizens bowed their heads before the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Flowers were showered on the procession. Prasad was distributed to the devotees.
It should be noted that on Saturday, the Nagar Kirtan Yatra began from Gurdwara Rori Sahib Nising in the morning under the leadership of Gurnam Singh Ladi (Dabri), a member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Addressing the gathering, Gurnam Singh Ladi said that this Yatra commemorates the supreme sacrifice made by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib to protect the right to freedom of faith and conscience.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib's sacrifice symbolizes his courage and unwavering devotion to his religion. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib sacrificed his life for the welfare of humanity and the protection of religion. Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur decided to protect his religion by sacrificing his life so that people could live with dignity and protect their faith. Even today, his sacrifice, blessings, and teachings inspire us.
It is noteworthy that with the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, 4 such Yatras are being organized across the state. This Yatra will conclude on November 25 with a state level program in Kurukshetra in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Harshdeep Singh, Harjeet Singh, Kashmir Singh, Surendra Singh, Baldev Singh, Baba Trilochan Singh, Baba Gurmej Singh, Ajmer Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Sarabjeet Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Pradhan Maan Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Baldev Singh, Preet Singh, Angrez Singh, Jarnail Singh, Principal Jang Bahadur along with a large number of villagers and school children were present.
