Hoshiarpur:- Dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru of India, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji, the divine Nagar Kirtan, with the support of the Sangat, departed from Gurdwara Sri Rampur Khera this morning. After Sant Sewa Singh Ji offered Ardas at the Gurdwara Sahib, the Nagar Kirtan was dispatched to Sri Anandpur Sahib amidst the echoes of chants as per Khalsa traditions under the umbrella of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and led by the Panj Pyares.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, Tanda MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, Dasuha MLA Karambir Singh Ghuman, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nicas Kumar, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur also paid obeisance at the Gurdwara Sahib. A contingent of Punjab Police gave guard of honour to the Nagar Kirtan. Devotees in Bhunga, Haryana, Bhikhowal, Hoshiarpur, Chabbewal, Mahilpur and Garhshankar welcomed the Nagar Kirtan by showering flowers.
Talking to reporters on this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib today through various stops.
He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is organizing various events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji in a traditional manner. He said that the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, was a supporter of human rights and protected India by sacrificing himself. Guru Ji’s thoughts and sacrifices still inspire brotherhood.
Welcoming the Nagar Kirtan at Mahilpur, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai ??Krishan Singh Raudi said that we are fortunate that we are celebrating the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Ji. He said that the Punjab government is organizing a large-scale gathering at Sri Anandpur Sahib on 23, 24 and 25 November and a special Vidhan Sabha session will also be held on 24 November. He appealed to all the devotees to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib along with their families.
Welcoming the Nagar Kirtan at Chabbewal, Lok Sabha Member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that today we are all fortunate that we are celebrating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and a large number of devotees have paid homage in the Nagar Kirtan organized by the Punjab Government. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, large-scale events are being organized at Sri Anandpur Sahib on 23, 24 and 25 November, where saints, Chief Ministers of various states and prominent personalities will participate and pay homage. He appealed to all the devotees to attend along with their families. Welcoming the Nagar Kirtan in Hoshiarpur, MLA Bram Shankar Zimpa said that we are fortunate that the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji has come into our lives and under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is celebrating the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Ji on a large scale. During this, Mayor Surinder Kumar was also present with him. MLA Zimpa said that today the whole world bows down to the sacrifices made by Guru Ji for the welfare of humanity.
He said that a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits had come to Sri Anandpur Sahib with a request from Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to protect religion. Accepting this request, the ninth Guru had sacrificed his life 350 years ago in Chandni Chowk, Delhi to protect humanity. At that time, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji were also martyred along with him.
He said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the Punjab Government is organizing various events to celebrate the 350th Martyrdom Day. He appealed to all the attendees to attend along with their families. He said that the Punjab Government is organizing an event dedicated to the martyrdom centenary, through which the message of Guru Ji's martyrdom is being spread globally. He further said that it is due to the sacrifice of the ninth Guru Ji that people are enjoying the joys of freedom today.
MLA Chabbewal Dr Ishank Kumar said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib made a unique sacrifice to protect the religious rights of humanity so that an example could be set for the world. He said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life in Delhi to protect human rights and religious freedom, which is unprecedented in world history. He said that the ninth Guru was a true symbol of secularism, unity and universal brotherhood. He said that the life and philosophy of Guru Sahib are a guide for all humanity.
On this occasion, the Panj Pyares and prominent personalities were also honored.
