Amritsar- The gates of the Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, located at an altitude of about 15 thousand feet in Uttarakhand, have been closed for the Sangat today at noon on the occasion of the conclusion of the annual pilgrimage of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib. During this, as per the Khalsa traditions, the holy form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib has been adorned at the Sukhasan Asthan in the form of Nagar Kirtan for the winter season.
Despite the heavy snowfall around the Gurdwara during the closing ceremony of the Yatra, the enthusiasm of the Sangat was worth seeing. More than 2000 devotees reached Gurdwara Sahib to participate in the closing ceremony and pay obeisance at the end of the Yatra. In this regard, the Sukhmani Sahib path was recited in the morning and the Jatha of Hazuri Raagi of Sri Harmandir Sahib Bhai Maninder Singh performed the Kirtan of Gurbani.
The Gurdwara Granthi Singhs offered prayers at the end of the pilgrimage and thanked the Guru Sahib. On this occasion, the President of Sri Hemkund Sahib Management, Narinderjit Singh Bindra, thanked the entire government and non-government organization for their support for the success of the pilgrimage.
On this occasion, the President especially honored Brigadier MS Dhillon of the 9th Brigade of the Indian Army, Colonel Virender Aula of 418 Independent Corps, Police Officer Vinod Rawat, Amandeep Singh, Ravinder Patwal of SDRF and others for their support by giving them Sirpao.
He appealed to the devotees that just as they have come to the Guru Ghar with great enthusiasm this time, similarly he invited them to come to the Guru Ghar with full enthusiasm and devotion next year also. He also thanked the devotees with whose cooperation the arrangements for the Guru Ghar are being made.
On this occasion, Manager Bhai Sewa Singh said that this year more than 2 lakh 76 thousand devotees have reached the Guru Ghar to pay homage. It is worth mentioning that for the last few days, there has been a lot of snow around the Gurdwara Sahib, which is situated at an altitude of 15 thousand feet. Due to which the entire hilly area is covered with a white sheet.
