Amritsar, November 20:- Dedicated to the 350th martyrdom centenary of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the cycle rally, which started from Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi under the leadership of Mr. Manjit Singh GK, former President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, concluded today at Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, the birthplace of the ninth Guru.
On reaching Amritsar, the rally was welcomed at the Golden Gate by eminent personalities including Chief Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Giani Raghbir Singh, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, and Baba Kashmir Singh Karseva Bhuriwale.
On this occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that by celebrating the 350th martyrdom anniversary, the SGPC aims to convey to the nation and the world the message that if Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib had not sacrificed his life, what would have been the state of the country's politics, culture, and religious freedom? He added that the Gurmat celebrations, Nagar Kirtans, and Yatras held across the country have become a source of inspiration for devotees to learn about the concepts and teachings of Guru Sahib's unparalleled martyrdom.
In this context, the bicycle journey, led by Mr. Manjit Singh GK, from Guru Sahib's martyrdom site, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi, to his birthplace, Gurdwara Guru Ke Mahal, not only raises awareness about the anniversary but also conveys the message of protecting the environment in accordance with the Guru's teachings. He praised the initiative of Delhi's Sikh leaders and thanked the Sangat for their unwavering support.
Meanwhile, Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, the head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, said that this centenary is an opportunity for the Sangat to connect with the history of Guru Sahib and adopt his valuable teachings in their lives. Meanwhile, Baba Kashmir Singh Karseva Bhuriwala also welcomed the cycle yatra and appealed to understand the message of this initiative, saying that adopting Guru Sahib's teachings in life is the need of the hour to save the polluted environment. He also appealed for maximum action.
On this occasion, Mr. Manjit Singh GK, former President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, thanked SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, Sikh organizations, as well as the Sangat for their full support along the way. The cycle yatra was also welcomed by the Singhs from SGPC, Baba Kashmir Singh Kar Seva Bhuriwale, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, head of Damdami Taksal, Baba Balbir Singh, head of Buddha Dal, Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh, head of Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Sampradaya, Baba Joga Singh, head of Tarana Dal Baba Bakala.
