Chandigarh, November 15:- The President of the British Desi Society (UK) Rishu Walia and the President of the Sikh Welfare and Culture Society Resham Singh Sandhu said that this event is being celebrated as the "International Memorial Day" in the memory of Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia (1718–1783) on November 16, 2025 at Gurudwara Guru Amardas in Leicester (UK). The biographical book “Jassa Singh Ahluwalia: The Lion of Punjab” (Author: Shri Rishu Pal Walia) will also be released at this event.
On this occasion, Rishu Walia said that this international event will also feature a special dialogue session to strengthen India-UK cultural partnership, in which senior officials, scholars and representatives of the diaspora community will participate. This event will be an important step towards highlighting India's history, culture and heritage at the international level.
