Santoshgarh/Una, February 4:- The 649th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Maharaj was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm at the historic Shri Guru Ravidas Temple in Santoshgarh town. The two-day religious programs organized on this occasion concluded on Monday night. During the celebrations, bhajans, kirtans, and satsangs were organized in the temple premises, in which a large number of devotees participated and remembered the teachings and messages of Guru Maharaj.
On the final evening of the program, the famous singing duo from Punjab, the Gill Sisters, enthralled the congregation with their melodious and energetic performances. They gave splendid renditions of popular bhajans such as “Ravidas Guru Aaya Banke Yaar Gariban Da”, “Mere Satguru Malik Duniya De” and “Main Ti Haan Baba Sahib Di”, which made the congregation dance with joy.
Earlier, Baba Kewal Singh, Baljinder Singh, Deepak Singh from Tapasthan Khuralgarh Sahib, the temple's head Granthi Naresh Singh, BK Musafir and Sant Baba Kamaljit Singh Babbi conveyed the teachings and humanitarian message of Guru Ravidas Maharaj to the congregation through Gurbani Shabad singing.
Advocate Kulwinder Singh, President of Guru Ravidas Religious Sabha Santoshgarh, informed that Balwant Singh, Chairman of the Jod Mela Committee, was specially present at the program. On this occasion, the Sabha honored the dignitaries and social workers present.
Chairman Balwant Singh said that the humanitarian ideology of Guru Ravidas Maharaj has reached the masses through this event, and society will always remain committed to spreading this message globally.
**Yash Bagga becomes President of Jod Mela Committee**
Yash Bagga was announced as the new President of the Guru Ravidas Jod Mela Committee. This announcement was made by Chairman Balwant Singh during the birth anniversary celebrations, after detailed discussions with the members of the local Guru Ravidas Sabha and the Jod Mela Committee. It is noteworthy that Yash Bagga's father, Balvir Bagga, held this position for a long time, and langar (community kitchen) service has been provided continuously for 21 years at the Jor Mela, which is scheduled to be held on January 21-22.
Balwant Singh stated that former Garhshankar MLA Shingara Ram Sahungra was the founder of this Jor Mela, and in accordance with his vision, this fair will be continued for generations to come. Upon the announcement of Yash Bagga's assumption of office, hundreds of devotees present in the pandal expressed their support with chants of "Jai Guru Maharaj" (Hail Guru Maharaj).
