Batala: A terrible road accident took place on Udowal National Highway near Batala early this morning. A tempo traveler going from Mata Vaishno Devi to Amritsar collided violently with a tipper. The accident was so terrible that the tires of the tempo traveler were blown away.
In this tragic accident, two people died on the spot, while the condition of the driver is said to be critical and 14 other family members were also seriously injured. As soon as the information was received, ASI Hardial Singh and ASI Dalvir Singh of the Road Safety Force reached the spot along with their team and started relief work. The injured were immediately taken to the Civil Hospital Batala for treatment. I spoke to Dr. Sahil at the Civil Hospital Batala and he said that two have died and the rest have been referred to Amritsar for declaration while the driver's condition is also serious.
ASI Hardial Singh and ASI Dalvir Singh said that the tempo travel was going from Katra to Amritsar. When the vehicle reached the limits of the Dayalgarh post under the Sadar police station near Batala, it had a terrible collision with a tipper.
The police are investigating the matter and the real reasons for the accident are being ascertained. There is a wave of mourning in the area due to this unfortunate incident.
