Mohali, August 24:– Among all the programmes related to Teej attended during the month of August so far, this event can be considered the biggest, where a large number of women participated with great enthusiasm and excitement. The participation of such a large number of women is an excellent example of well-planned arrangements.
Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stated this while speaking to journalists. She was attending the ‘Teeeyan Teej Diyan’ programme organized at a park in Sector-89, Mohali, by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann, MLA Kulwant Singh and Sarbjit Singh Samana, Mayor of Mohali Corporation. The ‘Teeeyan Teej Diyan’ programme was organized under the supervision of Jaswant Kaur, wife of MLA Kulwant Singh.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann said that under the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann, ?1,000 has started being credited into the accounts of women and ?1,500 into the accounts of women belonging to Scheduled Castes. She said that for women whose accounts have not yet received the amount, the registration process is being carried out rapidly so that the money can be credited to the accounts of all eligible women as soon as possible.
She said that more than 1,000 Mohalla Clinics are functioning across Punjab, where a large number of people receive treatment every day. Along with medical examinations, free medicines and necessary tests are also provided there. Further, for the convenience of the people of the state, a free Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme providing coverage of up to ?10 lakh has also been launched. Keeping in view the health of the youth and the need to protect them from drugs, construction of sports stadiums on a large scale is also progressing rapidly across Punjab.
Responding to questions from journalists regarding the ‘Teeeyan Teej Diyan’ programme organized in Mohali, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Mann said that bringing together such a large number of women in such a well-planned manner is itself a significant achievement. She said that women also participated in the programme fully dressed in traditional attire and with great enthusiasm, which is a matter of pride and an important step towards improving the social environment. Such gatherings of women not only strengthen mutual brotherhood and social bonding but also contribute to building a disciplined society.
On the occasion, Madam Jaswant Kaur said that Teeyan are an important part of Punjabi culture and such programmes provide women an opportunity to remain connected with their heritage while coming together to share happiness. She said that connecting the present generation with Punjab’s folk traditions, Giddha, Boliyan and folk songs is the need of the hour.
During the programme, Iqbal Gunnomajria efficiently performed the role of stage secretary, while artist Gurmeet Kalar also participated in the programme with his performance.
