Chandigarh, August 20:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji have been guiding humanity for centuries. Installing his statue is a resolve to imbibe his thoughts, life values and the path shown by him in our lives. Sant Ravidas Ji had envisioned a city in the form of ‘Begampura’ where there would be no place for sorrow, injustice and discrimination. The state government is working with the same spirit of social harmony and Antyodaya. By developing the spirit of human service, Antyodaya and social harmony in our lives, we can pay true tribute to Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji.
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said this while addressing the statue installation ceremony of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj organised on Thursday at Jadaula village in Kaithal district. Union Minister for Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, former Rajya Sabha MP and programme convener Shri Ishwar Singh were specially present at the ceremony. Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini announced a grant of Rs. 31 lakh to the Sant Guru Ravidas Jan Kalyan Committee during the programme. Former MP Ishwar Singh demanded that the biography of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji be included in the syllabus, on which the Chief Minister directed the concerned department officials to take necessary action in this regard.
The Chief Minister said that saints and great personalities have always shown society the path of truth, service, goodwill and brotherhood. The teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, who is regarded as the foremost among saints, are a source of inspiration for society. We should follow the path shown by him and strengthen mutual love, goodwill and social harmony in society. He extended his greetings to all devotees present on this sacred occasion and, while paying obeisance to the saints and great personalities, said that such events serve as a means of carrying forward our rich spiritual and cultural traditions.
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that ensuring the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society and working for the welfare of society in accordance with the thoughts of Guru Ravidas Ji is a priority of the state government. He said that to spread the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji from door to door and promote the spirit of social harmony, the future Guru Ravidas Dham is being constructed on approximately 5 acres of land at Umri in Kurukshetra at a cost of Rs. 124 crore.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ across the country on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, under which a sacred Kalash Yatra is being taken out. This yatra, carrying the soil from the birthplace of Guru Ravidas Ji in Kashi, began on July 29 and will reach villages and households across Haryana, spreading the message of social awareness, national unity and human dignity.
The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government is working equally for the development and upliftment of all sections of society in accordance with the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji. The government has adopted a transparent ‘no expense, no slip’ policy to provide talented youth an opportunity to enter government service, under which more than 2 lakh youth have been provided government jobs on the basis of merit during the last 12 years. The ‘Haryana State Commission for Scheduled Castes’ has also been constituted to protect the rights of the Scheduled Caste community.
He said that poor families are being provided free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes. Under these schemes, more than 34 lakh patients have received the benefit of cashless treatment worth Rs. 4,226 crore. Free dialysis facilities are being provided to kidney patients in all government hospitals and medical colleges, which has proved to be a major support for poor families.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikaran Yojana, financial assistance of Rs. 80,000 is being provided for house repairs. So far, Rs. 416 crore has been distributed to 85,815 families under the scheme. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the dream of owning a house has been fulfilled for 1,56,000 families, while under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, plots have been provided to 32,000 poor families in urban and rural areas. Similarly, under the ‘Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana’, assistance of up to Rs. 71,000 is provided for the marriage of daughters, under which Rs. 1,523 crore has been given to 3.85 lakh daughters so far.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that through the ‘Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, Rs. 2,100 per month is being transferred to the accounts of mothers, sisters and daughters. Under this scheme, more than 10 lakh beneficiaries have so far received Rs. 2,042 crore. He also gave detailed information about the fee and financial assistance being provided to students through the Ambedkar Medhavi Scholarship, Post-Matric and Pre-Matric Scholarships.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people present to take the thoughts of saints and great personalities to every household and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and goodwill in society. He said that a united and aware society is the foundation for building a strong Haryana. The Chief Minister congratulated the organisers and residents of the area on the religious and social event and wished happiness and prosperity for the people of the state.
Union Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said, Sant Ravidas gave the message of human welfare
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said that Sant Ravidas Ji gave society the message of equality, brotherhood and human welfare. His thoughts continue to guide society even today. The spirit of liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in the Indian Constitution is inspired by Indian philosophy and the saint tradition.
Shri Meghwal said that Sant Ravidas Ji envisioned a society where everyone would have food and there would be no discrimination between the rich and poor or big and small. This spirit of equality and fraternity has remained a part of the basic consciousness of Indian society. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is providing food grains to the poor through the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is also effectively implementing public welfare schemes. The Union Minister also sang a song based on the words ‘Aap Chandan Hum Paani’ of Guru Ravidas Ji.
On this occasion, former Rajya Sabha MP and programme convener Ishwar Singh, MLA Satpal Jamba, BJP State General Secretary Satya Prakash Jarawata, State Vice President Ashok Gujjar, BJP District President Jyoti Saini, former Minister Kamlesh Dhanda, former MLA Leela Ram, former MLA Lehri Singh, former District President Manish Kathwad, Municipal Committee Cheeka Chairperson Rekha Rani, former Chairman Randhir Singh, Subhash Kalsana and D.D.
