Patiala- Regarding long pending demands of government employees and pensioners in Punjab, strongly supporting the call for Maha Strike by Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front, Joint Struggle Committee Municipal Corporation under the leadership of President Gurmail Singh, Chairman Sita Ram, General Secretary Babu Ram Selwan took mass leave at Municipal Corporation and employees and pensioners staged dharna and held protest. 
In the protest dharna, Municipal Workers Union of Municipal Corporation, Sweeper Union, Driver Union, Nagar Palika Karamchari Maha Sangh, Technical Service Union and Retired Employees Union, leaders and members of Municipal Corporation participated. 
On this occasion leaders of Joint Struggle Committee Gurmail Singh, Sita Ram, Babu Ram Selwan, Joginder Singh Panchhi expressing heavy resentment towards Punjab Government said that instead of resolving pending demands like pending dearness allowance installments of employees and pensioners and its arrears, fully implementing old pension scheme, regularizing temporary employees etc., procrastinating, taking anti-employee decisions and repeatedly giving time to employees for meeting and then backing out, there is heavy resentment among employee class towards Punjab Government.
They said that fight is being fought regarding anomalies of 6th Pay Commission and 18 percent DA. Government has not constituted committee of 7th Pay Commission but by recruiting newly recruited employees under temporary conditions of Seventh Pay Commission, employees are being exploited and cheated. They demanded that committee of Seventh Pay Commission be constituted immediately.
They said employees regarding 6th Pay Commission 2.59 percent and 113-119 DA difference and 18 percent DA, employee class of Punjab is facing hardship in courts. Employees will give befitting reply at election time. On this occasion Joginder Singh Panchhi, Sumit Kumar, Mahinder Singh Badungar, Ram Pal, Pradeep Puri, Ajaib Singh, Sanjay Kalyan, Mangat Ram Kalyan, Sankar, Sahil, Raminderpreet Singh, Goldy Kalyan, Jaskirat Kaur, Usha Rani, Manpreet Kaur, Preeti Bala, Tarwinder Singh Johar, Harpal Singh, Lucky, Gurmail Singh, etc were present.
