Hoshiarpur: Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today held a review meeting with officials from various departments to assess the preparations for the state-level program to be held at Shri Khuralgarh Sahib in Garhshankar on the occasion of the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. The Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the program's outline, arrangements, and security measures were discussed in detail. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain instructed the officials to give top priority to the convenience of the devotees and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed in a timely manner. She said that proper arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, toilets, health services, traffic, and parking should be ensured.
The Deputy Commissioner specifically instructed the officials regarding security arrangements, saying that robust arrangements should be made for crowd management and additional police force should be deployed at sensitive locations. She also emphasized ensuring the availability of CCTV cameras, barricading, medical camps, and ambulance services.
The Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly said that the life of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj gives a message of humanity, equality, and social harmony. He appealed to all departments to work in coordination with each other to make the program successful, dignified, and peaceful.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain instructed the officials to regularly inspect the site and submit progress reports so that any shortcomings can be addressed in a timely manner.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vikas Kumar, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jyoti Bala, SDM Mukerian Oishi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, SDM Dasuya Kanwaljit Singh, Assistant Commissioner Pawanpreet Singh, RTO Amandeep Singh, SP Navneet Kaur, and other officers were also present.
