Garhshankar, January 29:- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today held a review meeting with the officers of various departments to review the preparations for the state level function to be held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib in Garhshankar. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai ??Krishan Singh Raudi was also specially present. He said that the state level function of Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji is being celebrated at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib on February 6.
During the meeting, the format, arrangements and security arrangements of the function were discussed in detail. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain instructed the officers to complete all the necessary arrangements on time, giving priority to the convenience of the devotees. She said that adequate arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, toilets, health services, transportation and parking should be ensured.
The Deputy Commissioner, while issuing guidelines specifically on security arrangements, said that proper arrangements should be made for crowd management and additional police force should be deployed at sensitive places. He also stressed on ensuring the availability of CCTV cameras, barricading, medical camps and ambulance services.
Deputy Speaker Jai Krishna Singh Raudi said that the life of Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji gives a message of humanity, equality and social harmony. He appealed to all the departments to work in coordination with each other and make the event a successful, dignified and peaceful one.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain ordered the officials to inspect the venue regularly and submit progress reports so that any shortcomings can be addressed in a timely manner.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nicas Kumar, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jyoti Bala, SDM Mukerian Oyashi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, SDM Dasuha Kanwaljit Singh, Assistant Commissioner Pawanpreet Singh, RTO Amandeep Singh, SP Navneet Kaur and other officials were also present.
