Pehowa / Daljit Ajnoha: Acharya Deepak Kumar Maharaj Ji, Peethadhishwar of the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Acharya Brahman Purohit Akhara Gaddi and Gaddi Pandit Gangaram Ji (Bharat) at Saraswati Tirth (Prithudak), a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site, explained that 16 Shradh observances are performed during Shradh Paksha, from Purnima to Amavasya. According to religious beliefs, this period is dedicated to expressing reverence for ancestors, with particular significance attached to the days from Ekadashi to Amavasya.

Thousands of devotees, numbering in the lakhs, reached Saraswati Prithudak Tirth in Pehowa to perform rituals, religious ceremonies and Tarpan for their ancestors at the Gaddi of Pandit Gangaram Ji and through their respective priests. On Chaturdashi, Pandit Mohit Sharma and Pandit Vikas Sharma Ji performed the Pitru Puja rituals.

Gaddi Pandit Gangaram Ji (Bharat), Acharya Deepak Kumar, Peethadhishwar of the Akhil Bharatiya Shri Acharya Brahman Purohit Akhara Gaddi, Pandit Vikas Sharma and Pandit Mohit Sharma jointly stated that Trayodashi, Chaturdashi and Amavasya hold special significance during Shradh Paksha. On these days, thousands of people from across India visit the sacred site to perform worship and rituals for the peace and spiritual liberation of their ancestors.

They said that people offer Tarpan to their ancestors on these days and make donations to priests during the worship, seeking peace for their ancestors, relief from ancestral obstacles and their spiritual liberation.
