Nawanshahr:- As part of the series of events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, a special lecture was organized at the local Sardar Dilbagh Singh (SDS) Government College. The objective of the event was to make the students aware of the philosophy of "righteousness, truth and justice" of Guru Sahib and inspire them to follow the path shown by Guru Ji.
College Principal Prof (Dr) Harjinder Singh presided over the event. Renowned scholar Prof Apinder Singh Mahilpuri delivered the main lecture. During his address, he said that the multifaceted teachings and great sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru - Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji are relevant and give a message of truth and justice even in the present times. Prof Mahilpuri said that Guru Sahib maintained an unwavering commitment for truth, non-violence and the welfare of humanity. He stood firm against superstition, caste discrimination and untouchability, laying the foundation for the protection of people's rights.
He stressed that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life not only for Sikhism but also for the fundamental freedom of all religions in India. He appealed to the students to adopt the teachings of the Guru as the ideals of modern life. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, attended as the special guest and shed more light on the unparalleled sacrifice of the Guru.
He described the martyrdom of the Guru as "a unique sacrifice for the protection of humanity" and appealed to the youth to incorporate the teachings of Guru Sahib in their daily lives. Prof. (Dr.) Harjinder Singh, Principal of SDS College, said that such educational programs are important for developing religious, spiritual and moral values ??among the youth.
He said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stood as the protector of the weak and the backward. His life set a unique example of the important path of true religion, service to humanity and being kind to all. The college also organized a quiz competition on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the winning students were also honored.
