Derabassi, August 23, 2026:- As part of the series of awareness programs dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj by the Punjab Government, a special documentary film of about 30 minutes based on the life, philosophy and great teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj was screened through LED screens in villages Paragpur, Bakarpur and Bhankharpur of Derabassi block today.
This special campaign dedicated to the 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj by the Punjab Government is being run from village to village to make people aware of the life, struggle, social equality and message of brotherhood of the great Guru Ji.
Derabassi SDM Amit Gupta said that Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj gave the message of humanity, equality, brotherhood and social justice. Guru Ji's teachings even today show the right direction to the society and inspire to strengthen mutual love, harmony and unity. That is why the Punjab government has made arrangements to organize Kirtan Darbars and seminars in universities across the state as well as to specially screen this documentary film.
Derabassi MLA Mr. Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is celebrating this historic 650th Prakash Purb on a grand scale. Under this series, a special awareness campaign is being run across the state so that the life and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj can be taken to every household.
A large number of villagers participated in the villages to watch the documentary film. Meanwhile, people appreciated this initiative of the Punjab government and said that through such efforts, the younger generation gets information about the life, ideology and contribution of great saints and gurus to the society.
