Sangrur, August 28:- To ensure maximum participation of youth in the democratic process and to register eligible youth as voters, an important meeting was held with SVEEP Nodal Officers at the District Administrative Complex, Sangrur under the chairmanship of Additional District Election Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Shri Ankur Mahindru, PCS.
During the meeting, Shri Ankur Mahindru informed that claims and objections are being received from 13 August 2026 to 12 September 2026 under the second phase of the ongoing 'Special Intensive Revision-2026' in the state of Punjab. He instructed all the nodal officers to ensure maximum participation of youth in the democratic process and to register eligible youth as voters. Special awareness and registration camps should be organized in the district and eligible students should be registered as voters through Form-6.
He directed the heads of all government educational institutions to activate electoral literacy clubs, appoint 'campus ambassadors' and encourage students to fill Form-6 through the online portal (voters.eci.gov.in) or the voter helpline app. He assured that all possible support will be provided to the institutions by the Electoral Registration Officers of the five assembly constituencies under Sangrur district.
Assistant SVEEP Nodal Officer-cum-District Education Officer (Secondary), SVEEP Nodal Officer (Colleges)-cum-Principal Government Ranbir College, SVEEP Nodal Officer (ITIs)-cum-Principal Government ITI (Women) Sangrur, Election Tehsildar Smt. Paramjit Kaur and election staff were present in this meeting.
