Nawanshahr:- Under the pre-SIR campaign, to ensure mapping of the existing voters with the 2003 voter list, the District Administration SBS Nagar organized special camps today at all 615 polling booths across the district. During these camps, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were present at their respective booths and provided necessary information and assistance to the voters regarding the mapping process.
Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh said that keeping in mind the Special Intensive Revision as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, special camps have been organized at booth level across Punjab today to facilitate mapping of voters whose details of the year 2003 were not received by the Chief Election Office, Punjab so that no eligible voter is left out of the mapping process. He said that the aim of SIR is to prepare a complete and transparent voter list.
Sharing detailed information about the schedule for SIR in Punjab, he said that from 25th June to 24th July 2026, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will go door to door to collect forms from the voters. The draft voter list will be published on 3rd August 2026 and claims and objections will be received from 3rd August to 2nd September 2026.
He further said that the notice phase/disposition of claims and objections will be done from 3rd August to 28th September 2026. The final voter list will be published on 1st October 2026. He also appealed to the voters to actively participate in the SIR process and get their details verified. During this, various SDMs They also checked the ongoing SIR work in their areas.
