Chandigarh, July 2:- Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Gupta said that the government will launch a special campaign of public awareness programs to make Haryana drug free. Under this, apart from organizing marathons in many districts, direct communication will be established with the public.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Gupta was talking to the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the districts through video conferencing. Special Officer of the Chief Minister Pankaj Nain was also present in the meeting.
Mr. Arun Gupta said that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini, efforts should be made to connect every citizen with this campaign against drugs being launched across the state under the 'Haryana Uday' program so that the state can be completely drug free. The government's effort is to eradicate drugs from the root and include the youth in the mainstream of the nation.
The Principal Secretary said that under 'Haryana Uday', people will be made aware and sensitized against drugs for three consecutive months as per the Chief Minister's community policy and outreach program.
In the state level program organized on July 11 at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula, direct interaction will be had with voluntary organizations and drug associations. Similarly, in the program organized on July 18 in Madhuban, interaction will be had with police station in-charges and MHCs across the state.
Mr. Gupta said that a state level marathon will be organized in Faridabad on August 9. Similarly, marathons will be organized in Yamunanagar on July 26, in Rewari on September 6 and in Mahendragarh on September 27. Young boys and girls will participate in the marathon, who will also make other people aware and sensitize them against drugs.
He directed the District Deputy Commissioners to establish coordination with all departments and make the campaign being run against drugs a success. As many people as possible should be included in this.
