Una, September 7:- Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal on Monday interacted with students at Government Senior Secondary School-2 Una, which has been adopted under the ‘Apna Vidyalaya-Himachal School Adoption Programme’. He inspired the students to set big goals in life, move forward with self-confidence and work continuously to achieve them. He also urged them to stay away from drugs and channel their energy in a positive direction.
The Deputy Commissioner said that students should identify their interests and abilities and accordingly decide the direction of their future. Challenges come in life, but instead of being afraid of them, one should face them with confidence. He asked the students to dream big and continue making consistent efforts to turn those dreams into reality.
During the interaction session, students put various questions related to careers, administration and education before the Deputy Commissioner. The Deputy Commissioner answered their questions in an informal manner and guided them to develop clear thinking about their careers, trust their abilities and remain focused on their goals.
**Badminton Court Mat and Flood Light Proposed
Regarding improvement of sports facilities in the school, the Deputy Commissioner directed that a proposal be prepared for providing a mat and flood lights for the badminton court. He said these facilities would be provided soon.
**83 Government Schools Included in the Programme
It is noteworthy that 83 government schools in Una district have been included in the first phase under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s initiative, the ‘Apna Vidyalaya-Himachal School Adoption Programme’. Various administrative and departmental officers have adopted these schools. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has himself adopted four government schools in the district and regularly visits them to interact with students and learn about the requirements of the schools.
The core objective of the programme is to provide guidance and motivation to students through active participation of officers and regular interaction with students. Under the programme, along with providing guidance to students on subjects such as career guidance, personality development, preparation for competitive examinations and a positive outlook towards life, emphasis is also being laid on strengthening sports, library, ICT and other facilities according to the requirements of the schools.
School Principal Surendra Kaundal said that the direct association of the Deputy Commissioner with the school and his continuous guidance have increased the confidence of the students. He said that the students have received a new direction regarding their careers and future, and their courage to set big goals and achieve them has been strengthened.
