Hoshiarpur: In the one-day 50-50 over Inter-District Senior Women's Cricket Tournament organized by the Punjab Cricket Association, the Hoshiarpur team secured their second consecutive victory by defeating the Kapurthala team by 7 wickets. Giving this information, HDCA Secretary Dr. Raman Ghai stated that the Kapurthala team won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 204 runs in 49.2 overs. Muskan Sharma contributed 47 runs, while Sukhmanleen Kaur and Samreet Kaur contributed 30 runs each. For Hoshiarpur, Anjali Seemar and Sanjana Kumari bowled brilliantly, taking 4 wickets each, while Shivani dismissed 2 players.
He further mentioned that chasing a target of 205 runs in 50 overs, the Hoshiarpur team scored 205 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 42.1 overs, winning the match by 7 wickets and earning 4 points with their second consecutive victory. For Hoshiarpur, Pooja Devi played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 78 runs, and Niranka continued her good form, scoring 50 runs. Additionally, Vanshika scored 20, Manreet Olakh 16, and captain Suhana remained unbeaten on 15 runs.
Dr. Ghai noted that with this win, the Hoshiarpur team has won both their matches in A-Pool, accumulating 8 points.
