Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 03 September:- Under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Varun Sharma, IPS, SP Shri Ramandeep Singh and DSP Traffic Shri Karnail Singh, a special awareness seminar was conducted by Traffic Education Cell and Sanjh Kendra In-charge City-1 ASI Janak Raj at B.S.H. Arya Senior Secondary School, Sohana.
During the seminar, teachers and students of the school were given detailed information about following traffic rules, especially about not driving vehicles by minor children. They were told that if a minor is caught driving a vehicle, there is a provision of fine up to Rs. 25,000 or imprisonment up to 3 years for the parents. Instructing the students not to drive vehicles without driving licence, boys and girls were motivated to compulsorily wear helmets while driving two-wheelers.
On this occasion, awareness was also created not to use mobile phones while driving and to follow road safety rules. Apart from this, students were made aware of the ill effects of drugs and were called upon to stay away from drugs and to make others also aware in this regard.
During the seminar, information was also shared about various facilities available to common people and youth through Yuva Sanjh and Sanjh Kendras. Students were also made aware about calling helpline number 112 to seek help from police or to give information to police and 1930 for matters related to cyber crime.
Police officials appealed to the students that they themselves should follow traffic rules and also make their family members and friends aware about road safety, so that accidents can be reduced and contribution can be made in creation of a safe society.
