Karnal, September 16:- An interactive and informative session on mental health and life skills was organised for the hostel students at Karnal International School. Dr. Vinay Gupta, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the Department of Psychiatry at Government Hospital, Kaithal, addressed the students during the session.
The programme commenced with the welcome of Dr. Vinay Gupta by the school’s Chairman, Colonel Arun Dutta, and Director, Mr. Prakash Joshi. The session was held at the school’s Vikram Sarabhai Auditorium, where the students welcomed him with applause.
Before the session, Colonel Arun Dutta introduced Dr. Vinay Gupta to the students and shared information about his academic, professional and social achievements. It was stated that Dr. Gupta has received the Prime Minister’s Scholarship. He has also undergone specialised training in the field of addiction and de-addiction science at AIIMS and has published more than 60 research papers and articles. In addition, he has delivered more than 3,000 lectures at over 350 schools, colleges, universities and coaching institutes across the country.
Addressing the students, Dr. Vinay Gupta discussed various challenges and distractions faced by young people in today’s rapidly changing environment. He encouraged the students to develop good habits, stay away from negative influences, exercise control over distractions and use mobile phones and social media responsibly.
He said that at this important stage of life, it is essential to set clear goals and make continuous efforts to achieve them. Through practical examples and an interactive approach, he explained to the students that the decisions and choices made today can have long-term effects on their careers, personalities, relationships and future.
The students participated in the session with great enthusiasm and interest. Their active participation made the programme informative and inspiring.
At the conclusion of the programme, Colonel Arun Dutta and Mr. Prakash Joshi honoured Dr. Vinay Gupta by presenting him with a memento and expressed their gratitude to him for sharing his valuable time, knowledge and experience with the students.
