Majri (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), October 23, 2026:- The Punjab government is undertaking special initiatives to spread the life, philosophy, ideology and message of social equality of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj among the people on the occasion of his 650th Prakash Purab. As part of these efforts, a special 30-minute documentary film was screened on LED screens in the villages of Sangatpura and Mianpur Changar in Majri block.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharar, Gurmeet Singh said that the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj are a source of inspiration for all humanity. Through his hymns and thoughts, Guru Ji conveyed the message of eliminating social evils such as caste discrimination, prejudice and high-low distinctions. His ideology inspires people to live with equality, mutual brotherhood, harmony and respect.
He said that this special documentary being presented by the Punjab government to mark the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is an important initiative to connect people, particularly the younger generation, with Guru Ji’s life and teachings. Through the documentary being screened in villages on LED screens, people are being made aware of Guru Ji’s great philosophy and the message he gave to society.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate said that Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj envisioned a society where every individual would enjoy equal rights and respect without any discrimination. Even today, Guru Ji’s teachings remain highly relevant in strengthening unity, tolerance and mutual harmony in society.
He appealed to people to adopt the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj in their lives and contribute to promoting brotherhood, equality and harmony in society. He said that such initiatives can take Guru Sahib’s ideology to every household and also familiarise future generations with his remarkable life and philosophy.
