Patiala (Manpreet Singh):- The fourth grand Dussehra festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in front of the ancient Shri Kedarnath Ji Temple, with the support of Sudhar Sabha and devotees.

At 7:00 p.m., at the request of the family of founder Satnam Hasija, the priest performed the religious ceremony dedicated to Lord Hanuman, offered bhog of badana and chole kulche, and recited “Jai Shri Ram” and the Hanuman Chalisa. Members of Sudhar Sabha distributed prasad among the large gathering of devotees. Earlier, at 6:00 p.m., the Ramayana was presented through an LED screen.

A 51-foot-tall effigy of Ravana was prepared for the occasion. The artisan initially engaged by Sudhar Sabha to make the effigy backed out at the last moment. With the blessings of Bhole Baba, Vice Chairman Hari Singh Chauhan, General Secretary Surinder Pathak, Kedar Nath Goel, Iqbal Singh Shanty, Diler Saini and four to five other devotees of Lord Shiva joined hands and completed the effigy within a week. The devotees said they received this strength through divine grace, as none of them had ever made a Ravana effigy or anything similar before.

MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Mayor Kundan Gogia, Planning Board Chairman Tajinder Mehta, Improvement Trust Chairman Harpal Virk, Ranjit Singh Chandok, Aman Bansal and other team members attended the event. All members of Sudhar Sabha welcomed and honoured the guests.

MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, along with his team, performed the Ravana-burning ceremony and extended Dussehra greetings to everyone. He also stated that construction of the road leading to Bhai Jassa Singh Gurdwara had begun. A community hall has also been built for colony residents to hold gatherings during happy and difficult times at affordable rates.

MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli highly appreciated the efforts of Sudhar Sabha, describing its members as very hardworking. He noted that prasad and langar are continuously served at the temple. A large gathering of colony residents and people from across the city was seen at the festival.
