Hoshiarpur: MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Deepak Bali, Advisor to the Punjab Department of Culture and Tourism, announced that the renowned play ‘Hamare Ram’ will be staged in Hoshiarpur on September 4 and 5. In these performances, to be held at the local James Cambridge International School, famous actor Ashutosh Rana and his entire team will present a play based on the life, ideals, values, and philosophy of Lord Ram.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, MLA Jimpa and Advisor Deepak Bali stated that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is making continuous efforts to strengthen mutual brotherhood, religious harmony, and respect for all faiths across the state. In this spirit, the play ‘Hamare Ram’ is being organized with the aim of sharing the rich spiritual heritage of Sanatan Dharma and the ideals associated with Lord Ram’s life with the public.
They informed that two shows will be held daily on September 4 and 5—one at 2:00 PM and another at 6:30 PM. They added that these shows are being organized by the Punjab government free of cost. They appealed to the city residents to attend these performances in large numbers, seize the opportunity to understand the message behind Lord Ram’s life and philosophy, and experience this magnificent cultural presentation.
MLA Jimpa and Deepak Bali remarked that performances like ‘Hamare Ram’ play a crucial role in connecting the younger generation with Indian culture, spiritual values, and the exemplary life of Lord Ram. Lord Ram’s simple living, adherence to righteousness (*Maryada*), spirit of sacrifice, devotion to duty, and commitment to virtue have always served as an inspiration for society.
They stated that the Punjab government is honoring the saints and great figures of all religions while simultaneously preserving and promoting the traditions and values ??of Sanatan Dharma. They also noted that the program ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ (An Evening Dedicated to Lord Shiva) had received immense support from the people of the state. Additionally, development work at the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala is underway at a cost of approximately ?80 crore, and a proposal has been made to construct a temple dedicated to Mata Sita and Luv-Kush at Ram Tirath in Amritsar.
He stated that the Punjab government respects the religious and spiritual luminaries of all faiths. In this spirit, the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was successfully commemorated, while the 650th birth anniversary (Prakash Parv) of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji is being celebrated on a grand scale throughout the year. Furthermore, Lord Parshuram Jayanti was celebrated at the state level for the first time.
MLA Jimpa and Advisor Deepak Bali appealed to the city residents to participate enthusiastically in the performances of the play ‘Hamare Ram’ and contribute to making this cultural and spiritual event a success.
