Nawanshahr:- Convenor of the Front, Dr. issued a press statement here today. Parminder Singh, Professor AK Maleri, Buta Singh Mahmoodpur and Yashpal have strongly condemned the raids being conducted on the houses of leaders/workers of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha and their detention to stop the permanent march to be held at Bathinda from 6th February 2026 for the release of jailed farmer leaders.
He said that the Bhagwant Mann government, which came to power with the slogan of change, instead of accepting the demands of the rightful struggles and recognizing the democratic right to struggle, has resorted to dictatorial attacks to crush the basic democratic rights achieved through life-threatening struggles. This government is a changed form of the earlier governments under a new name and the entire ruling class politics is based on boasting and tiring with false promises and slogans and on suppressing the struggles of different classes with the help of police power.
Because they have no solution to the deep economic crisis and fundamental issues of the people. The jailing of farmer-labor leaders under false cases shows the government's utter disregard for the people of Punjab, especially the workers and farmers, in asserting their rights through collective struggle. The pro-democracy and justice-loving people including the struggle organizations of Punjab have always been thwarting such attacks of dictatorial power through people power and this government too will ultimately have to face failure.
He demanded that the Punjab government should stop raids against the leaders and the jailed farmer and labor leaders should be immediately released and the demands of the farmers and other struggling organizations should be immediately accepted.
