Dhuri, October 11, 2026:- Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said today that, for the first time, Punjab has a government focused on working for the people day and night. He said that the work carried out over the past four and a half years had earned his government the people’s trust. Referring to daytime electricity and canal water for farmers, monthly savings of ₹15,000 for every family through government schemes, and prompt payment for paddy procurement, the Chief Minister said that his government’s record spoke for itself. Targeting the BJP and other opposition parties, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that attempts to tarnish his image and undermine his integrity had failed. He said the CBI had returned empty-handed after raiding his office. He reiterated that his doors would always remain open to the people of Punjab.
Sharing his thoughts on X, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann wrote: “Today, at a village gathering in the revolutionary village of Mimsa in the Dhuri constituency, I shared my thoughts and spoke from the heart with my people. It is because of your warm love and support that Dhuri has today become the ‘centre’ of Punjab politics. Contrary to the hollow claims of previous governments, we have carried out substantial work at the grassroots level. Farmers are receiving daytime electricity, canal water has reached 88 per cent of fields through irrigation, 70,685 government jobs have been provided, healthcare is free, and zero electricity bills are benefiting every family by ₹1.82 lakh annually. The monthly financial assistance being provided to mothers and sisters under the ‘Mawan Dhian Satkar Yojana’ recognises the dignity and respect they deserve. With your blessings, we will continue to discharge with complete honesty and dedication the responsibility of public service entrusted to us by Waheguru. Inquilab Zindabad.”
Addressing the ‘Lok Milni’ gathering, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The people of Punjab have seen the difference between governments that make promises and a government that delivers results. We have earned their trust through our work over the past four and a half years. Every penny in the government treasury belongs to the people, and we are ensuring that their money returns to them through development, better public services and public welfare initiatives.”
The Chief Minister said, “Every penny in the government treasury belongs to the people, and we are spending it wisely on their welfare. The people’s money is returning to them through the development of the state, schools, hospitals and roads. More than 90 per cent of households are receiving free electricity, and farmers are getting electricity during the daytime—something that had never happened before in Punjab’s history.”
He said, “Our government is working for the people. We have provided government jobs to more than 70,000 young people without corruption, improved roads, strengthened schools and hospitals, and closed toll plazas to save commuters ₹70 lakh every day that was previously being spent unnecessarily. We are also developing villages and building sports stadiums so that our youth can focus on sports and build a better future.”
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Healthcare should be accessible to every family. Through the ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’, we are providing cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family. The purpose of this initiative is to ensure that people can receive quality medical treatment without worrying about hospital bills.”
Speaking about the ‘Mawan Dhian Satkar Yojana’, he said that eligible women aged 18 years and above had been receiving monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 from July 1, while women belonging to Scheduled Castes were receiving ₹1,500. The Chief Minister said, “This amount has been transferred directly into their bank accounts, and women already receiving social security pensions are also eligible. He further stated that 97 per cent of women in Punjab are expected to benefit from the scheme, for which ₹9,300 crore has been allocated in the budget.”
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Our government is committed to ensuring dignity, respect and financial assistance for women. Under the ‘Mawan Dhian Satkar Yojana’, eligible women are receiving assistance directly in their bank accounts. With 97 per cent of women expected to benefit, the scheme is providing appropriate support to families across Punjab.”
The Chief Minister said that education was essential for eliminating poverty and improving living standards. He said the government was investing in teacher training, Schools of Eminence and other initiatives to improve education and empower children from ordinary families. The Chief Minister said, “Free schemes and subsidised cards may provide relief, but education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Quality education empowers people, raises their standard of living and creates opportunities for future generations. That is why we are working tirelessly to strengthen government schools and provide better opportunities for children.”
He said, “The number of students from government schools who qualified for NEET has increased from 80 in 2021 to 882 in 2026, reflecting the efforts being made to improve education. We are determined to ensure that children studying in government schools can compete with students anywhere in the country.”
The Chief Minister said, “For the first time in Punjab’s history, canal water has reached the fields of 1,587 villages where it had never reached before. We have spent ₹7,200 crore on expanding irrigation facilities, and the area receiving canal water has increased from 20.89 lakh acres in 2022 to 60.30 lakh acres today. Canal irrigation is essential for reducing the burden on farmers and strengthening Punjab’s agricultural economy.”
He said the government had made public service its primary mission and was committed to Punjab’s progress, whereas previous governments had prioritised their personal interests. The Chief Minister said, “Punjab has seen governments that remained occupied with serving their own interests. We have made public service our sole mission. We are committed to Punjab’s progress and will continue working to improve the lives of farmers and every section of society.”
The Chief Minister noted, “Government schemes are helping every family save approximately ₹15,000 every month. This provides real relief to household budgets and leaves more money in the hands of ordinary people. We have also ensured that farmers receive payment for their paddy directly into their bank accounts before they even reach home from the grain market.” He said timely payments were essential to protect farmers from financial uncertainty and ensure that their hard work was properly rewarded.
Attacking his political opponents, he said that those unable to challenge his government on the basis of its performance were resorting to personal attacks and attempts to tarnish his image. The Chief Minister said, “When they cannot find any shortcomings in my work or challenge my integrity, they try to defame me. My honesty has become a problem for those who are accustomed to self-serving politics. But the people of Punjab know the truth, and no political propaganda can erase the work we have done for them.”
Referring to the CBI raid on his office, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The BJP thought that raids and pressure would frighten me, but the CBI returned empty-handed after raiding my office. I will never compromise on the interests of Punjab and its people. My strength comes from the people’s trust, and I will continue serving them with honesty and determination.”
The Chief Minister said elected representatives should remain accessible to the public rather than confining themselves to offices and formal meetings. He reiterated that the doors of his residence had always remained open to the people of Punjab and would continue to do so. The Chief Minister said, “The people of Punjab are not outsiders to me; they are my own family. My doors have always been open to them and will always remain open. The real purpose of holding public office is to listen to people’s grievances, understand their problems and work towards finding solutions.”
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated that his government would continue working with dedication, transparency and accountability to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Punjab. He said the development and progress achieved so far marked a major step towards building a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Punjab where every section of society could live with dignity and confidence. He said, “The people of Punjab will ultimately judge every political party by its record of public service. We will continue to focus on tangible results, transparency and accountability instead of hollow claims. Our commitment is to build a prosperous Punjab where every individual can live with dignity and confidence.”
