Karnal, September 16:- DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma said that the Seva Sankalp campaign would be conducted from September 17 to October 17 to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public life and public service. Under the campaign, the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme would be organised at Karn Tal at 6 p.m. on September 17. In addition, a havan yagna would be organised in all gaushalas of the district in the morning and the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme would be held in the evening. Animal health camps would also be organised at the gaushalas, where the health of cattle would be examined. Besides, lamps would be lit in honour of development works carried out in the district during the 12-year period.
DC Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma was chairing a meeting of officers regarding preparations for the Seva Sankalp campaign in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat on Wednesday. Earlier, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini reviewed in detail the preparations for various programmes proposed under the campaign through video conferencing from Chandigarh and issued necessary directions to the officers.
During the meeting, the DC directed the officers to organise service camps under the Seva Sankalp campaign not only at the block level but also in municipal corporations, municipal councils, municipal committees and large villages. At these camps, problems related to beneficiaries of various departmental schemes should be resolved, pending cases should be disposed of and the process of connecting eligible new beneficiaries with the schemes should be completed on the spot.
He gave clear directions that eligible people should be provided the benefits of services and schemes on the spot as far as possible.
Creative Activities to Be Held in Schools and Colleges
The DC said that the Education Department should organise activities related to service, nation-building and creativity in schools, colleges and universities. Painting, rangoli and other creative competitions should be organised for students. Better activities and innovations at the district and school levels should be identified and showcased on a wider scale. He directed the officers to ensure maximum participation of students and youth in the campaign.
Regular Monitoring of Every Programme
The DC said that all concerned departments should finalise their action plans under the campaign well in time and ensure that all preparations are completed as per the scheduled timeline. Every programme should be monitored regularly. Along with providing progress reports of the programmes organised in the district to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, high-definition photographs and videos of all programmes should also be prepared. After the campaign, a coffee-table book based on the activities and innovations organised in the district would also be prepared.
Second Phase of Lado Lakshmi Scheme to Be Launched
The DC was informed during the meeting that the second phase of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme would be launched during the campaign, taking forward the process of extending the benefits of the scheme to more eligible women. Along with this, eligible workers would also be provided benefits under various schemes being operated for the welfare of workers. The DC directed the officers to ensure that the benefits of schemes reach eligible beneficiaries with ease, transparency and within the stipulated time. All necessary arrangements should be ensured in advance to connect eligible people with the schemes during the programmes.
ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya, Karnal SDM Devendra Sharma, Gharaunda SDM Anubhav Mehta, Indri SDM Dr. Raman Gupta, Nilokheri SDM Ashok Kumar, Assandh SDM Sumit Sihag, CEO Zila Parishad Amit Kumar and officers of various departments were present at the meeting.
