Patiala, September 30:- A delegation of the PRTC Pensioners Association met the Managing Director of PRTC regarding their demands. The delegation comprised Chairman Mukand Singh, Vice Chairman Bachittar Singh, State President Bhagwant Singh Kanganwal and Treasurer Amolak Singh.
The delegation expressed concern over the delayed and instalment-wise payment of the pension for August and demanded that the full pension payment be made before the 10th of every month. They also demanded that the 8 percent Dearness Allowance announced by the Punjab Government be implemented with the pension for September. In addition, the delegation raised the issues of payment of arrears related to the 2016 Pay Commission grades, medical bills and the dues of newly retired employees.
The MD assured the delegation that the pension would be released before the 10th of every month. He said that the 8 percent Dearness Allowance would be included in the September pension and paid accordingly. Regarding the dues of newly retired employees, he directed the General Manager (Administration) to prepare the details and submit them at the earliest so that the payments could be made.
The MD also assured that the payment of medical bills and arrears related to the 2016 grades would be made soon. He said that necessary efforts would be made to resolve the problems of pensioners while respecting the elderly.
The delegation demanded that time be given for a meeting every month. On this, the MD said that a meeting would be held every month and pensioners would be able to raise their problems directly. The delegation thanked the MD.
