Haroli/Una, July 26 (Rajveer Chopra): On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, marking the 27th anniversary of the Kargil War, Press Club Haroli organized a tribute and felicitation ceremony at the Press Club building in Tahliwal. During the event, heartfelt tributes were paid to the immortal martyrs of the Kargil War, honoring their indomitable courage, valor, and supreme sacrifice. The families of the martyrs were honored with the presentation of shawls, Himachali caps, saplings, and mementos.
The event was presided over by Una Superintendent of Police (SP) Sachin Hiremath. In his address, he stated that the supreme sacrifice made by the brave soldiers of Kargil would always remain a source of inspiration for the nation's citizens. He remarked that the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs' families are equally worthy of respect, and urged the youth to draw inspiration from these ideals and pledge themselves to the service of the nation. He added that such events further strengthen the spirit of patriotism, love for the country, and dedication to duty among the younger generation.
Guest of Honor Jatindra Kanwar, State President of Himotkarsh, stated that the sacrifice of the immortal Kargil martyrs constitutes a golden chapter in the nation's history. He emphasized that the debt owed to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the country's security can never be repaid. He called upon the youth to adopt the martyrs' ideals and play an active role in nation-building.
Rakesh Kaushal, President of the Tahliwal Industrial Association, remarked that Kargil Vijay Diwas is not merely a day of remembrance but an occasion to salute the indomitable courage, valor, and dedication of the country's brave soldiers. He stated that it is the responsibility of every section of society to step forward to honor and support the families of martyrs and to foster a strong sense of patriotism among the new generation. Other speakers at the event expressed their views, stating that such programs organized in honor of martyrs keep their memories alive forever and strengthen the spirit of patriotism and a sense of duty towards the nation among the youth.
On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Sachin Hiremath conveyed a message of environmental conservation by planting a sapling. During the event, approximately 100 saplings were distributed to the attendees, and everyone was urged to plant as many trees as possible and care for them.
Students from various local schools paid tribute to the immortal martyrs of Kargil by presenting cultural performances imbued with patriotism. Their soulful performances deeply moved the audience.

Family members of martyrs Joginder Singh (Haroli), Paramveer Singh (Beetan), Sanjeev Kumar (Dulehar), Harmesh Singh (Beerdwal), Butta Ram (Beetan), and Kulindra Singh (Beetan) graced the ceremony with their presence. Additionally, brave soldier Vyas Dev, who was injured during Operation Sindoor, was a special guest at the event; his courage and dedication were also honored.
