Hoshiarpur: It is a matter of great pride for the Hoshiarpur district that Jaswant Singh, son of Paramjit Singh (Sarpanch) and a resident of village Khanaura, has brought glory to India, Punjab, and his district by winning a gold medal in the deadlift competition at the WRPF World Powerlifting Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 13, 2026.
In the same competition, Raj Kumar from village Mehtiana also performed exceptionally well, securing one gold medal in deadlift and two silver medals in bench press.
