Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 1: The eighth bus departed from the Mohali Assembly constituency today under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme launched by the Bhagwant Singh Mann government. This bus, sent with the efforts of Kumbhara Councilor Ravinder Bindra, was flagged off by SAS Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh.
Speaking to reporters on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the joy and spiritual happiness visible on the faces of the pilgrims embarking on the pilgrimage is worth seeing. He said that even though people have access to the necessary amenities, it is not possible to undertake the pilgrimage alone. The opportunity to travel as part of the Sangat was available only through this scheme. He said that the pilgrims themselves shared this with him emotionally.
During this three-day and two-night journey, the pilgrims will visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Ram Tirtha Temple, and Wagah Border. The MLA said that at the Wagah border, travelers will see how Indian Army soldiers guard the country's borders 24 hours a day, allowing us all to live peaceful lives.
He said this is a commendable effort by the Aam Aadmi Party government, strengthening the spirit of brotherhood among the people. The congregation travels and returns together singing hymns and kirtans, exchanging ideas during the journey, and returning home as one family.
MLA Kulwant Singh stated that the budget session will begin on March 6th, and the budget will be presented on March 10th. He expressed hope that a scheme of ?1,000 per month for women in Punjab may also be announced.
