Sangrur, September 06:- Under the campaign launched against drugs, 02 cases were registered and 02 accused were arrested in Sub Division Moonak. Dr. Ravjot Grewal IPS, SSP Sangrur, informed the press that acting under the "War Against Drugs" and "Pindan De Pahredar" campaigns, Sub Division Moonak Police registered 02 drug-related cases between 30.08.2026 and 05.09.2026, arresting 02 accused and recovering 39 intoxicating tablets from them. Additionally, 05 individuals trapped in drug addiction were facilitated with medical assistance at de-addiction centers. Furthermore, 06 accused were arrested under cases registered under various sections.
Apart from this, 115 traffic challans were issued for various violations of traffic rules. Following checks on suspicious individuals, action was taken against 62 persons under 172 BNSS.
The public has been appealed to cooperate in the anti-drug drive. Meetings are being conducted with panchayats, sports clubs, and prominent citizens to raise awareness among the public and youth about the ill effects of drugs to eradicate this menace. Concrete efforts are being made to curb drug trafficking and take strict action against anti-social elements. The war against drugs continues.
