Patiala: On the occasion of World Peace Day, Mr. Kaka Ram Verma—Chief Trainer of the First Aid, Safety, and Health Awareness Mission and a retired Red Cross Training Supervisor—organized speech competitions under the patronage of Mrs. Mandeep Kaur Antal, the State Awardee Principal of Government Girls' Senior Secondary School (Old Police Lines). During the prize distribution ceremony, the Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary) honored the students with certificates and wholeheartedly praised the event.
Seventy students from 16 schools expressed commendable thoughts and sentiments regarding the great humanitarian principles, deeds, sacrifices, spirit of renunciation, and struggles of iconic figures such as Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Lord Sri Krishna, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Expressing gratitude and appreciation, Principal Mrs. Mandeep Kaur Antal noted that this was the first time students and teachers had gained such detailed information about these great personalities. Mr. Kaka Ram Verma emphasized the need to raise awareness among Indians and Punjabis about the sacrifices made by great revolutionary warriors, divine incarnations, and Gurus for the sake of humanity, righteousness (Dharma), and duty.
Mrs. Ravinder Kaur Sidhu, Jarnail Singh, Sukhnaib Singh, Indu Batish, Anil Bharti, and program coordinator Lecturer Sushma Devi served as judges. In these competitions, Government Girls' Senior Secondary School (Old Police Lines) and Veer Haqiqat Rai School secured the first position; S.D. Model School and Veer Haqiqat Rai Model School took the second position; and Green Well High School and Government Girls' Senior Secondary School (Old Police Lines) secured the third position.
Students from all participating schools were honored with certificates of appreciation. Mr. Paramjit Singh Sarao, IPS (Former IGP), presented a commemorative running trophy to Veer Haqiqat Rai Model School for winning the highest number of awards.
