Chandigarh, June 4:- Haryana Education and Technical Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that the government has taken a big decision to provide new employment opportunities to the youth and modernize the technical education of the state. The government is starting many new modern, industry-oriented diploma and technical courses in various government polytechnic institutions of the state from the upcoming academic session 2026-27.
**Courses designed to suit the modern demand of industries
Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda said that this step has been taken by the Technical Education Department keeping in mind the current and future needs of industries, technologies and skill-based employment opportunities. He said that today's era is of rapidly changing technology, so our youth should have such skills that can get them immediate employment.
**These are the main curricula to be started from the new session
He said that courses like Electronics Engineering, Cyber ??Forensics and Information Security, Telecommunication Engineering, Artificer Training (Electrical), Environmental Engineering, Geo Informatics and Surveying Technology, Electrical Engineering and Electric Vehicle Technology, Technician X-Ray Technology, Journalism and Mass Communication, Sugar Technology and Apparel Design and Fashion Technology will be started in government institutions.
**Focus on National Education Policy-2020 and Industry 4.0
Shri Mahipal Dhanda said that provision has been made for admission of 60-60 students for each course in all these new curricula. The main objective of these curricula is to provide practical and employment-oriented education related to cutting-edge technologies, digital security, green technology, health services, electric mobility and specific industrial sectors to the students.
**He said that this important initiative will prove to be a revolutionary step towards strengthening technical education in line with the requirements of National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) and Industry 4.0. This effort of the Technical Education Department will not only increase the employability of the youth but will also create skilled and qualified human resources (HR) for the industries in the state itself.
