Nawanshahr (Des Raj Bali):- District and Sessions Judge, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Jatinder Pal Singh Khurmi, informed that a National Lok Adalat will be held in the district on December 12, 2026, in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the instructions received from the Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar. The Lok Adalat will facilitate the settlement of cases eligible for compromise at the court and pre-litigation stages through mutual consent, in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar.
He stated that the National Lok Adalat will take up pension and service-related cases, land acquisition cases, revenue cases, BSNL cases, cases related to insurance companies, financial matters, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, money recovery cases, bank loan-related cases, water bill disputes, criminal compoundable cases, cheque bounce cases, motor accident claim cases, tribunal-related cases, matrimonial disputes, traffic challans, labour dispute cases, disputes relating to public utility services such as electricity and water bills, and other compoundable cases.
