S.A.S. Nagar, 6 March:- Under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans, District S.A.S. Nagar, and under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP) City Mohali Dilpreet Singh, a special campaign has been launched to curb incidents of theft and snatching taking place in Mohali city.
In this regard, Prithvi Singh Chehal, Superintendent of Police City-1 Mohali, and Inspector Sukhbir Singh, Station House Officer, Police Station Phase-1 Mohali, while providing information, stated that on 25.02.2026, during a naka-bandi near the garbage dump at Club-72 Gym, Industrial Area Phase-8 Mohali, the police team apprehended Gurbachan Singh alias Bachna, son of Jagir Chand, resident of Shiv Colony near Ravi Kirana Store, Badmajra, District S.A.S. Nagar, and Salman, son of Sonu, resident of Milk Dairy Complex, Gwala Colony, Maloya, Chandigarh.
From their possession, a stolen motorcycle number CH-01-AN-7651 (Honda, black colour) and one Oppo mobile phone (silver colour) were recovered. In this regard, FIR No. 40 dated 25.02.2026 under Section 304 and 3(5) of B.N.S. was registered at Police Station Phase-1 Mohali.
During investigation, Harmandeep Singh alias Mandeep Singh, son of Harjit Singh, resident of Village Lahorimal, Tehsil Attari, Police Station Gharinda, District Sri Amritsar Sahib (currently residing at Village Sahi Majra, Mohali) was also nominated in the case and arrested.
The police have made a major recovery from the accused, including several vehicles and mobile phones snatched or stolen from different places. The recovered vehicles include Activa number PB-10-KC-4235 (white colour), motorcycle PB-65-BB-1765 (Hero Splendor, black colour), Activa PB-65-AS-8344 (grey colour), Activa PB-65-P-3990 (white colour), Activa DL-3SGB-2120 (blue colour) along with several other motorcycles and Activa scooters without number plates.
After this recovery, Section 317(2) of B.N.S. has also been added to the case.
Total recoveries from the accused Gurbachan Singh alias Bachna, Salman and Harmandeep Singh:

• 05 mobile phones
• 05 Activa scooters
• 07 motorcycles
Police investigation in the matter is continuing.
