Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, February 11:- MLA Mohali S. Kulwant Singh today flagged off a pilgrimage bus from Gurdwara Sri Singh Sabha in Phase-11, Mohali under the Mukhtar Mantri Tirath Bus Yatra Yojana. A group of 40 pilgrims left for Amritsar in this bus.
On this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that this special initiative has been taken by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the people of Punjab, the land of Gurus and Pirs, visit religious places. He said that under this scheme, the pilgrims will return to Mohali after visiting religious places like Sri Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Temple and seeing Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border and later this bus will leave for Amritsar again with other passengers.
He said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann government is a government elected by the people and dedicated to the people, which is continuously completing development-oriented works in phases. He said that all the necessary arrangements have been made by the Punjab government during this journey so that the pilgrims can perform the pilgrimage in a comfortable manner.
The MLA further said that pilgrims aged 50 years or above can register for the journey. One member of a family or both husband and wife can register for this journey and if the number of pilgrims exceeds 40, the selection will be done through draw on the basis of village, mahalla and polling booth.
He said that during this three-day and two-night religious journey, free AC buses for commuting, AC rooms for accommodation, three-time meals, tea and snacks will be provided. An assistant and medical team will also be present in each bus so that immediate assistance can be provided in any emergency situation.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, this is a commendable initiative for senior citizens, which has created a wave of happiness among the elderly. He said that the promises made by the government to the people are being implemented one by one and public welfare is being given priority.
On this occasion, the constituency coordinator of the Chief Minister's Tirath Yatra, Phulraj Singh, Block President Taranjit Singh, Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Harpal Singh, Gajjan Singh, Swaran Lata, Sonia, Upinder Kaur, Harvinder Kaur, Captain Karnail Singh, bus guide Sukhpreet Singh, Madam Savita, Sukhchain Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ranjit Singh, Amarjit Singh, Jagdish Singh, Harjit Singh, Vikram Singh Sandhu and others were present.
