Mahilpur:- MLA of assembly constituency Chabbewal Dr. Ishank Kumar today flagged off the bus of pilgrims for Amritsar for a religious pilgrimage under the Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme. On this occasion, State Secretary of Virasat Seva Sangathan of Aam Aadmi Party and Doaba Zone Incharge Tarun Arora were also specially present.
MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, while extending his best wishes to the pilgrims, said that this scheme not only enables senior citizens and pilgrims to visit religious places but also strengthens social harmony and spiritual bonds. He said that adequate arrangements have been made for the accommodation, food and transport of the pilgrims during the pilgrimage.
He said that on the first day, the Durgiana Temple will be visited. On the second day, they will get the opportunity to visit the Partition Museum, Jallianwala Bagh and Sri Harmandir Sahib and have langar service. Apart from this, the beating retreat ceremony will be shown at the Wagah border. On the third day, the devotees will return after visiting Bhagwan Valmiki Ji Tirath. The MLA said that in the future too, religious pilgrimages will be organized under this scheme. He said that breakfast, tea, lunch, high tea and dinner have been arranged for all the devotees during the journey. Before the departure of the bus, an atmosphere of enthusiasm was seen among the devotees and they thanked the Punjab government.
