Karnal, 27 August- Under the joint aegis of Bharat Vikas Parishad Karn Branch and Government Girls College, a speech competition on the topic "Life, Sacrifice and Teachings of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji" was organized under the cultural fortnight of the Parishad. About 18 girl students participated enthusiastically in the competition and through their spirited speeches, presented effectively the great life, unique sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his ideals towards humanity, religion and truth.
In the programme, Sardar Gulab Singh Munak was present as chief guest and Richa Chawla as special guest. Addressing the girl students, Sardar Gulab Singh Munak called upon them to take inspiration from the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and follow the path of truth, courage and humanity. He said that Guru Ji's life inspires society to selfless service and to stand against injustice.
President of Bharat Vikas Parishad Karn Branch Dr. Rachna Choudhary said that life and sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is not just a chapter of history, but an immortal message of courage, truth, humanity and protection of all religions for coming generations. Youth need to adopt his ideals in their lives.
In the competition, Devanshi secured first, Nikita second and Komal third position. Winning girl students were honoured with medals and mementos by Bharat Vikas Parishad Karn Branch. While certificates were given to all girl students participating in the competition. Refreshment was also arranged for the girl students present by the Parishad.
The jury of the competition included Pathi Sardar Pargat Singh, Richa Chawla, Neeru Atreja and Jyoti Choudhary. On this occasion, senior members of Parishad Kapil Atreja, Dr. Ashish Pasricha, Pranav Jawa, Seema Jawa, Dr. Rachna Choudhary, Vivek Atreja, Neeru Atreja, Ajay Arya, Abhay Arora and Jyoti Choudhary were present.
The objective of the programme was to make young generation familiar with great ideals, unique sacrifice and teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and inspire them to imbibe values like courage, integrity, service, sanskar, humanity and human rights in life.
