Nawanshahr/Kathgarh, October 30 (Jatinder Pal Singh Kaler):- The auspicious festival of Karwa Chauth was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in Kathgarh, just like in other parts of the country. The town witnessed lively activity from early morning. Married women dressed up beautifully, adorned their hands with henna and arrived at places of worship carrying ritual trays.
On this occasion, a special worship ceremony was organised at the residence of Principal Prem Prakash Sharma in Kathgarh. All the women gathered there with trays containing items required for the rituals. An elderly woman remembered Mata Gaurja and performed the aarti. All the married women came together and prayed for the well-being and long lives of their husbands.
During the worship, the Karwa Chauth story was narrated, which all the women listened to with great devotion. After observing a day-long fast without food or water, the women waited for the moon to appear at night. They viewed the moon through a sieve and offered water as part of the ritual. Their husbands then offered them water or juice to help them break their fasts.
The atmosphere was filled with devotion, love and a spirit of togetherness. The women exchanged Karwa Chauth greetings and prayed for peace, happiness and prosperity in their families.
