Prayagraj:- A major accident took place on Monday afternoon at a cold storage facility owned by former SP minister Ansar Ahmed, located opposite Chandapur village on Lucknow Road near Malak Harhar in the Ganga-par area of ??Prayagraj. Four people died in the incident. Several workers suffered burns and injuries and have been admitted to the city's Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital.
The roof of the cold storage facility collapsed after the tank filled with ammonia gas exploded. Dozens of workers were trapped under the debris. On receiving information, police and administrative officials - along with fire department personnel - reached the spot.
However, due to the leakage of ammonia gas, no one could enter inside the cold storage facility. Two persons were pulled out of the debris and taken to an ambulance for medical treatment.
Former minister Ansar Ahmed owns the 'Adarsh ??Cold Storage' located opposite Chandapur village on Lucknow Road. On Monday afternoon, potatoes were being stored inside the facility. Suddenly, in the midst of this activity, a violent explosion took place in a tank filled with ammonia gas.
