Khanna (Jagmeet Ghuman):- Dr. Pulkit Dhiman, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Livasa Hospital Khanna, successfully performed the first cholangioscopy-guided laser lithotripsy procedure, removing a complex 1.5 cm stone from the bile duct of a 74-year-old woman.
The patient was admitted to Livasa Hospital with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. An MRCP scan revealed a large stone in the bile duct near the pancreas. To avoid major surgery, Dr. Dhiman used advanced endoscopic laser technology to safely break the stone into smaller pieces and remove it.
Following the treatment, the patient recovered completely and was discharged soon afterwards. The hospital’s Facility Director, Sanjay Puri, described the procedure as a landmark step towards providing advanced specialised medical services in the region.
