Nawanshahr:- Under the guidance of Honorable District and Sessions Judge Priya Sood and Secretary of the Authority Judge Dr. Amandeep, a seminar was organized by PLV Vasdev Pardesi, Kashmir Singh and Des Raj Bali at Nawanshahr.
During the seminar, Des Raj Bali, while addressing the children, gave information about the POCSO Act and said that if someone harasses children, physically molests them in an inappropriate manner, shows them an obscene video, sends wrong messages, mentally harasses them or in case of any kind of unpleasant incident, children should definitely inform their parents and teachers, or call the children's helpline number 1098 for help.
The District Legal Services Authority provides free legal aid to SC, ST, children, elderly, women, disabled persons, beggars, prisoners in jail, industrial workers, mentally ill persons, and those whose annual income is less than three lakh rupees, and can avail the services of a lawyer free of cost.
Des Raj Bali gave detailed information to the children about child marriage, child labour and various laws made for children in the country. He said that for more information about the District Legal Services Authority, the toll free number 1968 can be obtained. The head teacher, etc. were present on this occasion. Ujagar Singh, Kuldeep Kaur and para legal volunteers Vasdev Pardesi, Des Raj Bali, Kashmir Singh etc. were present from the school management.
