Hoshiarpur:- Reaffirming its commitment to the youth of the nation and sports excellence, Rayat Bahra Professional University (RBPU), Hoshiarpur on Thursday successfully organized the Mai Bharat – National Sports Day 2026 “Khelo India Samvad” program.
The program was organized by Rayat Bahra Professional University under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The gathering was attended by NSS volunteers, students of the university, faculty members and young sportspersons. Former Member of Parliament Shri Avinash Rai Khanna, Vice Chancellor Dr. Chandramohan, Deputy Director (My Bharat) Smt. Jasleen Kaur and NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Pallavi Pandit were present on the occasion.
The flagship “Khelo India Samvad” programme included a live virtual address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The initiative laid emphasis on making sports a part of life. The “Quit Drugs, Embrace Sports” campaign launched by Dr. Pallavi Pandit was a major attraction. The University also felicitated young players from Rayat Bahra International School and University School of Physical Education for their sporting talents.
The programme was organised on Thursday, August 27, 2026, on the occasion of National Sports Day celebrations at Rayat Bahra Professional University Campus, Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
The primary objective was to encourage youth participation in sports, physical fitness, discipline and healthy lifestyle. The aim of the programme was to motivate students to stay away from drugs and contribute to nation building through the vision of a developed India@2047.
The programme was organised with a mix of virtual and physical interactions. The special guest, 18-year-old Judo player from Bulandshahr, Mr. Prince shared his experiences. Experts and dignitaries discussed sports infrastructure, training, sports science, nutrition, technology and international experience. The program was ably conducted by Dr. Jyotsana, Dean, University School of Sciences. The program concluded with the Devadasi Bharat Pledge, National Anthem and a group photograph, which reflected the University’s dedication towards youth empowerment.
