Hansi (Dinkar Gawri):- SDM Rajesh Khoth said that to keep life joyful and pleasant, every person should never let the child within them die. Childhood is the most beautiful phase of life, when imagination, creativity and enthusiasm know no bounds. The Children’s Festival, organised to nurture children’s talents and provide them with opportunities to express their art and emotions, is a commendable initiative. He was addressing the children and organisers after inaugurating the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp on the second day of the five-day Children’s Festival, held on Wednesday at the District Child Welfare Council premises.

While viewing the posters being prepared by the children, SDM Rajesh Khoth directed that the posters should not be limited to the competition but preserved as a valuable legacy of the Child Welfare Council. He said that when children who had expressed their imagination and emotions on paper through colours today grow up and see these posters years later, they will have an opportunity to relive the golden memories of their childhood. This will not only encourage their creativity but also preserve their artwork as precious memories of their early years.

On the second day of the Children’s Festival, children enthusiastically participated in various activities, including poster-making and mehndi design competitions. Students from Classes 6 to 12 are showcasing their artistic skills in the poster-making competition. Through colours, the children effectively expressed their thoughts and feelings on important themes such as Save the Earth, Save the Girl Child, environmental protection, water conservation, Green Diwali and Chandrayaan-3. Their artwork reflected social awareness, sensitivity towards nature and pride in the country’s scientific achievements. In the mehndi competition, girl students displayed their artistic talent by creating beautiful and attractive designs on their hands.

During the programme, SDM Rajesh Khoth highly appreciated the talent of children who presented cultural performances. He encouraged them by awarding cash prizes. He said that every child possesses some special talent; what is needed is an appropriate platform and encouragement to showcase it. Such events boost children’s self-confidence and help develop creative thinking, discipline and a spirit of healthy competition. He encouraged the children to participate enthusiastically in cultural, creative and co-curricular activities alongside their studies.

On the occasion, social worker and District Child Welfare Officer Om Prakash honoured SDM Rajesh Khoth by presenting him with a turban. The District Child Welfare Council also presented him with a plant as a memento. The plant symbolised the message of environmental protection and served as a call to fulfil our responsibility towards nature.

The five-day Children’s Festival is providing children with opportunities to showcase their talents, learn new creative activities and develop a spirit of mutual cooperation and healthy competition. The enthusiastic participation of the children brought the event to life.
